Hieronymus’ desk secretary is the contemporary interpretation of the piece of furniture of the same name which is traditionally used to store personal correspondence. This distinctive piece of furniture is crafted from exquisite materials in close collaboration with specialised artisans in Switzerland. The casing is shaped from wood and then meticulously finished by hand with straw marquetry. This traditional craft demands the utmost precision: each individual straw is split, folded, carefully cut to size, and applied in a precisely defined geometric pattern. The result is a surface that, thanks to the straw’s natural sheen, creates a lively, softly reflective play of light. The cabinet’s two shells thus appear like a minimalist work of art – modern, pared back, yet undeniably precious. The interior, including the finely crafted drawers and compartments for personal correspondence and writing instruments, is fully lined in Alcantara.
